I have the biggest, poofiest, curliest hair ever. However, when I get out of the shower, it's perfect and pretty. But whenver I gel it, it stays nice for an hour or so, and goes crazy after that. What is something I can use to keep it looking like it does when it's wet? Cost doesn't really matter, but nothing crazy.
Definitely dont use gels. My hair is just like yours and gel is not the way to go. I tried it because i thought my hair needed something super tough to control my crazy hair, but i've found that moose can be very powerful stuff that will enhance curl and control frizz without making your hair look like straw. And the best difference, your hair will still be able to MOVE. You may have to experiment with different brands, but trust me, there's a brand out there for everybody. When you find yours, you will be very pleased with the results. I use nexxus curl energee (i think that's what it's called) and it's actually a spray, not a foam. Works great. Good luck! PS I would also use a good leave in conditioner. It helpes with shine and texture without looking greasy.

Elmer's glue actually works great. And it can be washed out quite easily.
Softee gel because it hardens and stays harden until you wash it out
regular gel or moose
use spiking wax not gel or mouse.
mix gel with elmers glue. it will wash out. make sure you condition your hair well after.

If you want super strong spiked hair there is Ice Spiker. Its probably about 10-12 dollars, possibly THE strongest stuff you can buy besides cement glue:)

any store such as target,you can get that garnier fructris surf hair thing its really cool. i use it all the time!its like a puddy cream.

I get a product called Osis "Thrill" from my hairdresser. It is not cheap--think it s $15 a can but it lasts 2 years.
It is kind of gummy, but you use half a dime size each use.
there's a garnier fructis spray (green bottle) which i think gives you a beachy hair look.
if you want...you could also dissolve some sea salt in water in a water spraying thing, and use that. it works pretty well.
I just don't get it. My hair is always messy when the wind blows. Because of that sometimes I feel embarrass even to take the transport or just walk down the street. I even hate to run to catch the bus just so my hair is not messy.

Everyones hair blows in the wind. Unless you plaster your hair to your head it is gonna move when the wind blows. What I recommend doing is carrying with you a small pocket mirror so that when your hair does blow around, you can take your mirror out and make sure your hair looks ok.

You probably have fly aways. You should use a good conditioner in the shower so your hair will be smooth, also flat iron your hair and use a product like leave in conditioner or pomade.

dont be silly. never shave your head bald cuz then you would do the whole Britney Spears thing. If your hair is a mess, try a different shampoo, one for damaged hair. My hair is straight too and that looks great underneath hats! If it is windy outside, just plop on a cute hat. They are always in style.
Hair Spray! Is the key. Use it to keep your do in place while in the wind and then you can always brush it out a bit so it's not so stiff. I hate the wind, hate it.
