It all depends. Gel in general doesn't make you go bald. However it could clog your follicles and cause your hair to grow at a slower rate or not at all. It depends on how much you use and if you are just putting it on your hair or if you are rubbing it into your scalp. If there is no history of baldness in your family then I wouldn't worry about it. If there is and you are rubbing it in your head to put it on then I would stop and just rub it in your hands then run your hands through your hair. This is what nioxin and those other hair treatments do is unclog your hair follicles.
